Facilities
Our Design & Manufacturing site, occupies 4 units on the Wickford Business Park, based in Essex, United Kingdom.
This equates to 18,000 square feet of shop floor space, currently divided as follows:
- 5200 sq. feet Machine Shop
- 4200 sq. feet Assembly Area
- 4100 sq. feet Prototype Vehicle Trial Build
- 4500 sq. feet Production Facility Build and Soak Test Area
Second floor offices throughout units 4-7 include Project Management, Production, Design &
Conference Room facilities. Additional office space is available for future expansion.
Design Facility
|
We have invested considerably in CAD equipment and
personnel within our in-house design department, to
enable us to design and produce an array of specialist
tooling solutions, including Prototypes & one-off Custom
designs.
|

Design Office Software & Capability includes:
- I-DEAS V13 (with FEA capability)
- Catia V5
- AutoCAD
| |
Where it is possible to do so, or if it is requested, we are able to utilise customer's own product
CAD data. This data can be sent and received via FDX or FTP services, or directly to our
designers or project managers via their own email systems. Data types include:
|
- DWG & DXF
- JT, IGES & STEP
- Catia V4 & V5
|
| |
Our Design Engineers & Project Managers frequently travel the
globe, attending customer's sites, to ensure that the 'hands on'
approach is maintained and to carry out reviews where necessary
to ensure the end product conforms to the customer's
requirements.
Manufacturing Facility
|
Our manufacturing objectives are to:
- Maintain our price competitiveness
- Respond quickly to customer requirements
- Improve quality and interchange ability of parts
- Reduce lead times
To achieve these, we have invested in a modern,
well-equipped workshop with equipment that includes:
- SKT21 LMS CNC Turning Centres
- Cincinnati machining Centres
- Cincinnati 1050i
- XYZ Machining Centres
- CNC Lathes
|

| |
|
Additionally, we retain a wide range of conventional
machining and fabrication equipment including:
- CO2 Welding sets
- Bridgeport Milling machines
- Large Vertical Milling Machines
- Centre Lathes
- Cylindrical Grinder
- Surface Grinders
- 10 Tonne Hydraulic Press
- 48" Promecam Sheet Metal bender

Inspection & Test Facility
The majority of the Tooling & Equipment that we design and manufacture is dimension critical,
i.e. the alignment to the master vehicle and engine locations is critical. To adhere to
specifications and tolerances, we carry out inspections on all of the tooling.
Inspection is carried out on one of two dedicated in-house CMM machines, or with our FAROArm.
|
| |
Option 1
Our original CMM with a table size of:
X: 3500mm, Y: 2000mm & Z: 1300mm.
This CMM is retained for the larger jobs.
'Z' dimension details available Z movement.
|
|
|
| |
Option 2
Automated LK G80 Machine with a bed size of:
X: 1500mm, Y: 1000mm & Z: 580mm.
'Z' dimension details available Z movement.
|
|
Option 3 - Portable CMM with Reverse Engineering Capabilities
|
Arm Platinum
Our 7-axis Platinum FaroArm offers a portable (in-house or on-site)
CMM service. Faro arm allows parts to be verified on site in
a production environment or during assembly before shipment.
Reports can be generated continuously as data is gathered. The
FaroArm can measure to an accuracy of ±0.052mm.

System Try & Prove-Out Facility
|
When we expanded our facilities, we acquired
Unit 7. This unit is primarily used to provide
an area where customers can view and
inspect equipment prior to shipment to site
for installation.
Other uses for this area are:
- Bulk Assembly Area
- System Tryout & Test
- Research & Development
|
| |
Installed within this unit is a purpose built steel structure. This can be used for supporting overhead conveyor systems and equipment, incorporating vehicle body carriers and tooling.
|
| |
We generally build one or more prototype tooling
assemblies for each of our multiple tooling projects. A
Post Lift and Raised Working area gives us a facility to
develop and tryout each of these prior to bulk
manufacture.
It also gives any customer an opportunity to witness
their equipment during & after manufacture, and prior
to being released for shipment to the production plant.
| |
Project Management & Documentation
|
Project Management
Our 'Hands-on' Design & Project Teams ensure complete
projects are monitored during their development and
manufacture against original targets, indicating any deviation
and allowing for early corrective action, should it be necessary.

Shipping Support
We are committed to ensuring our products arrive on time
and to their intended destination. We recognise that
different countries around the world have different

therefore created a shipping process that is both
effective and adaptable:
- Our In-House Pre-Shipping Check List
- Movement Certificates
- HM Revenue & Customs Authorisation
- Our Arrivals Notice
- Delivery Notes & Invoices
- Our Crate Packaging & Drawings
| |

| |
Documentation Support
Documentation is produced & supplied throughout all stages of the design concept and project.
